Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled Cognos Developer & Senior Cognos Developer to lead the consolidation and optimization of over 900 existing Cognos reports across business domains such as Underwriting, Claims, Finance, and Risk. This role is critical in streamlining reporting operations, enhancing performance, and establishing a scalable, maintainable reporting infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze existing Cognos reports to identify redundancy and performance issues.

Categorize reports by complexity (Simple, Medium, Complex).

Consolidate overlapping reports into streamlined, efficient versions.

Collaborate with business stakeholders to prioritize and validate report redesigns.

Redesign reports for scalability, efficiency, and long-term maintenance.

Conduct unit, QA, regression testing and support UAT cycles.

Work closely with the Analytics & Reporting (AW) team for production deployment.

Maintain thorough documentation of all analysis, changes, and validation outcomes.

Ensure data accuracy and consistency across all delivered reports.

Required Skills & Experience:

8+ years of Cognos development experience (Cognos 10/11).

Expertise in Cognos Framework Manager and Report Studio.

Advanced SQL skills for report logic and optimization.

Experience consolidating and rationalizing large reporting portfolios.

Strong understanding of data warehousing and reporting best practices.

Full testing lifecycle experience (unit, QA, regression, UAT).

Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Ability to manage tasks independently and collaborate cross-functionally.

Nice to Have:

Experience with Cognos report performance tuning.

Knowledge of data governance and metadata management.

Familiarity with agile or iterative development methodologies.

Deliverables:

Consolidated and optimized set of 900+ Cognos reports.

Detailed documentation of analysis, changes, and testing.

Validated reports ready for production deployment.

Final project summary including recommendations and risk assessments.
