Role Overview

The Senior Product Engineer role operates at the intersection of engineering and design to deliver an extremely high-quality presentation experience to the world. In this role, you will work on the core product and take end-to-end responsibility for shipping key features that will be used by all of our users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end frontend feature delivery from start to finish, ensuring high quality and attention to detail.
  • Own the delivery of the entire user experience, considering design, functionality, interaction, and performance.
  • Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to align on requirements, design direction, and scope.
  • Deep dive into design challenges, consider broader impacts, and define and implement solutions that adhere to architectural standards.
  • Contribute to the learning, development, and culture building of the company as one of the first engineer hires.

What We Look For

Skills:

  • 6+ years of UI development experience, ideally contributing to a product's growth from inception to scale.
  • Proficiency in the React stack and the ability to build reusable components from scratch based on Figma designs.
  • Expertise in all facets of CSS, including TailwindCSS, with a keen understanding of when to leverage CSS over JavaScript for efficient design solutions.
  • Strong capability in designing and implementing application architectures, including familiarity with various state management options.
  • Excellent first principles problem-solving skills with the ability to deeply understand problems and deliver elegant, end-to-end solutions.

Qualifications

  • Required Experience: 6+ years in UI development.
  • Bonus Points: Experience in building complex creation tools, prior work at renowned software companies, open source contributions to frontend tools, or a background in design.
