About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Backup Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Commvault data protection solutions. The ideal candidate will manage, monitor, and optimize backup operations across enterprise environments, ensuring high availability, reliability, and compliance of backup infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer Commvault Backup & Recovery environments for on-premise and cloud workloads
  • Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot backup jobs, schedules, storage policies, and restores
  • Perform periodic backup validation, DR drills, and health checks
  • Manage storage capacity, deduplication, and tape library operations (if applicable)
  • Collaborate with IT infrastructure, virtualization, and database teams for backup strategy and improvements
  • Monitor system performance and implement optimizations to reduce backup windows
  • Document backup procedures, policies, and technical designs
  • Ensure adherence to security and compliance standards
  • Provide on-call support for backup failures and restore requests

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3–4 years experience in Backup Administration using Commvault
  • Strong understanding of backup architecture, retention policies, schedules, and replication
  • Experience with VMware/Hyper-V VM backups and restores
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows/Linux servers and file systems
  • Familiarity with cloud backup integrations (Azure/AWS, optional but preferred)
  • Good troubleshooting, incident management, and RCA skills
  • Ability to work independently in time-critical environments
