The Opportunity:
ECI has an exciting opportunity for a
Systems Escalation Engineer who is experienced in MSSQL and Oracle database administration
. You will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of clusters of MSSQL and Oracle DBA instances. You will also be responsible for orchestrating upgrades, backups, and provisioning database instances. You will also work in tandem with the other teams, preparing documentations and specifications as required.

This is an
onsite
role.

What you will do:

• Implement, configure, and manage MSSQL and Oracle databases to ensure their high availability and performance.
• Troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, security issues, etc.
• Installation, configuration of SQL Server & Oracle DBA Servers, including Always on Availability Groups.
• Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
• Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
• Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
• Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.
• Incident Management: Resolve single and cross technology incidents independently. Work with team members to resolve unusually complex or cross technology incidents.
• Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.
• Provide support/clarification to customers during and after deployment.
• Provide 24 x 7 support for critical production systems.
• To continuously improve on their knowledge around information security as it relates to their job and identifying and preventing phishing attempts

Who you are:

• Proven experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in both MSSQL and Oracle databases.
• In-depth knowledge of database implementation, configuration, and support.
• Proficiency in database monitoring and performance tuning techniques.
• Experience with backup, recovery, and security processes for MSSQL and Oracle databases.
• Familiarity with database development tools and techniques, including SQL, PL/SQL, and T-SQL.
• Certification in MSSQL and/or Oracle database administration is a plus.
• Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product life cycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
• Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
• Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
• Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours
• Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.
• Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
• Provide support/clarification to customer during and after deployment
• On-call troubleshooting experience with at least one production SQL Server
• Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
• Good to have Experience MySQL, Sybase & AWS Redshift.
• Remain vigilant while continuing to maintain and enhance the overall security of ECI and the client's receiving our services.
• Maintain awareness about the potential risks based on the environment they are operating in and the clients they are working on

Bonus points if you have:

• Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
• Incident Management: Resolve single and cross technology incidents independently. Work with team members to resolve unusually complex or cross technology incidents.
• Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
