Role Overview

We are seeking a
Senior Satellite Communications Systems Engineer
with expertise in designing, developing, and testing advanced satellite communication networks. This role requires hands-on experience with satellite payload engineering, ground segment design, IP networking, and integration with terrestrial and IoT networks.

The candidate will work with
both civil and military customers
, providing technical leadership and commercial expertise in SatCom systems engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Model, establish, and validate requirements for satellite networks based on end-user needs.
  • End-to-end communications design incorporating RF systems, IP networks, OSS/BSS technologies.
  • Analyze requirements and assess supplier solutions for SatCom systems.
  • Develop LEO, MEO, GEO interoperability solutions and 3GPP NTN convergence solutions.
  • Integration with terrestrial networks, NB-IoT, and IoT platforms.
  • Define communications system test strategies, VV&T plans, and execute ground or in-orbit tests.
  • Design and development of
    ground segments, terminals, and communication payload engineering
    .
  • Create concept of operations and service delivery documentation.
  • Drive presales globally for all CMI accounts.
  • Build partnerships and liaise with relevant ecosystem players.

Skills, Character, and Experience

  • Extensive SatCom solutions knowledge; hands-on with communication satellites.
  • Strong understanding of
    RF, payload, satellite operations, and network security
    .
  • Experience in
    requirements engineering, system design, and verification/testing
    .
  • Customer-facing skills with strong communication and presentation ability.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset with innovative solution development skills.

Essential Qualifications

  • 12+ years of relevant SatCom experience
    (systems engineering, payload design, operations).
  • Graduate or Master's degree in
    Space Systems, Electronics, Communications
    , or equivalent.
  • Expertise in
    IP networking, security, OSS/BSS, VV&T
    .
  • Experience in system documentation, operational procedures, and test execution.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent.
  • Experience in commissioning and testing satellite systems (space and ground).
  • Familiarity with security architectures, OSS/BSS, and military communication systems.
  • Knowledge of
    optical communications, 5G, Quantum technologies
    .
  • Software development exposure:
    Python, Java, Agile, DevOps
    .
