Role:Application Observability Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Application Observability Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and reliability of our applications and infrastructure. You will leverage observability tools and practices to monitor, analyze, and improve our systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in application performance monitoring (APM), infrastructure monitoring, synthetic job management, and database monitoring.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain observability solutions for our applications and infrastructure using tools such as AppDynamics, Elastic Stack, FullStory, and Grafana.
- Monitor application performance, availability, and reliability metrics to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations to track performance metrics and trends across applications and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to optimize application performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Implement and manage synthetic monitoring jobs to ensure application uptime and performance from end-user perspectives.
- Conduct root cause analysis for performance issues, outages, and incidents.
- Monitor database performance and provide recommendations for optimization and tuning.
- Participate in the development of observability standards and best practices.
- Provide training and support to team members on observability tools and practices.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies related to application observability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in application performance monitoring, infrastructure monitoring, and observability.
- Proficiency in one or more observability tools, including AppDynamics, Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), FullStory, and Grafana.
- Strong understanding of application architecture, cloud environments, and microservices.
- Experience with synthetic monitoring and job management.
- Familiarity with database monitoring tools and practices (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and integration tasks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., AppDynamics Certified Professional, Elastic Certified Engineer).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g.,AKS, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with cloud practices and tools (e.g., Azure, AKS, Github).
