Product Specialist:
A product specialist/Manager in the medical device industry acts as a bridge between the company, its products, and healthcare professionals. They are responsible for promoting and supporting the company's products, providing technical expertise, and building relationships with customers. This includes activities like product launch, product demonstrations, training, complete revenue cycle management, pricing and providing feedback to the management & product development team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Promotion & Sales Support:
Conducting product demonstrations, presentations, and training sessions for healthcare professionals, potential clients, and internal teams.
- Technical Expertise:
Providing in-depth technical knowledge about the medical devices, including their features, benefits, and usage.
- Customer Relationship Management:
Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders in the healthcare industry, including doctors, nurses, and hospital administrators.
- Market Awareness:
Staying updated on industry trends, competitor products, and customer needs to inform product strategy and identify growth opportunities.
- Feedback & Reporting:
Collecting and analyzing customer feedback, providing input to the product development team, and reporting on product performance and market trends.
- Training & Education:
Providing training and education to customers and internal teams on the use and benefits of the medical devices.
- Sales Support:
Assisting the sales team with customer meetings, trade shows, and other activities to drive sales and achieve business objectives. Responsible for entire revenue cycle and growth.
Essential Skills:
- Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical information and build relationships with diverse audiences.
- Product Knowledge: Deep understanding of the medical devices and/or ENT/Neurology therapeutic area.
- Sales & Marketing Acumen: Ability to identify sales opportunities, develop effective sales strategies, and promote products effectively.
- Technical Aptitude: Ability to understand and explain technical aspects of the devices and troubleshoot issues.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve customer issues and concerns.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product development.
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel to customer locations and attend industry events, minimum 10-12 days of travel in a month.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, or related fields preferably with MBA).
- Experience in the medical device industry, with specific experience in the ENT/Neurology therapeutic area, is preferred.
- Prior experience in sales, product marketing, or clinical support roles is a must.
- Minimum 8 -10 years experience in related field.
- A degree in life sciences, healthcare, or a related field.
- Strong technical understanding of healthcare products and solutions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- The ability to analyse market trends and develop actionable insights.
- Proficiency in managing relationships with key stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail.
