Job Title - Internal Controls Specialist

About the Role
:

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Governance & Controls Associate to join our team. This role goes beyond routine reviews — it involves building the backbone of strong governance frameworks, drafting robust Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), preparing Risk Control Matrices (RCMs), and ensuring that internal control systems are efficient, compliant, and future-ready.

Key Responsibilities:


• Conduct detailed process reviews and internal control assessments across various business functions.


• Draft and implement SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for different processes to ensure consistency, compliance, and efficiency.


• Design, update, and maintain Risk Control Matrices (RCMs) and ensure alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.


• Execute fixed asset audits, including physical verification, tagging, reconciliation, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.


• Assist in the end-to-end execution of internal control testing and risk-based reviews across both large and mid-sized companies.


• Identify process gaps, assess potential risks, and recommend actionable improvements.


• Prepare clear and structured review reports, highlighting control gaps and practical recommendations for improvement.


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely implementation of agreed actions and continuous monitoring of control effectiveness.


• Stay updated on evolving regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and internal audit methodologies.

Requirements


• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent professional qualification.


• 1–4 years of experience in internal audits, controls testing, risk management, or process assurance.


• Strong exposure to internal audits of large-scale companies preferred.


• Hands-on experience in drafting SOPs, preparing RCMs, and conducting fixed asset audits.


• Solid understanding of internal controls, process flows, and compliance frameworks.


• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.


• Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
