Job Role-  Import Operations- Manager

Location: KolkataExp- 5+ years

5+ years of experience in import/export management, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role, preferably within the edible oil or food industry.

Job Profile: 1. lmport Operations Management:- Oversee the entire import process of edible oil, including documentation, shipment tracking, and timely delivery. - Manage all logistics related to the import of raw materials and finished products. - Ensure coordination between suppliers, shipping companies, customs brokers, and internal teams to streamline the supply chain. 

2. Regulatory Compliance: - Ensure all import activities comply with relevant customs laws, government regulations, and international trade agreements. - Stay updated on global trade policies and food safety standards. - Handle import licenses, permits, and certifications required for edible oil imports. 

3. Supplier and Vendor Management: - Build and maintain strong relationships with international suppliers and logistics service , providers. - Negotiate freight rates, shipping schedules, and contracts with forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers. - Monitor supplier performance in terms of lead times, quality, and reliability,

4. inventory and Supply Chain Coordination: - Coordinate with the procurement and inventory management teams to ensure optimum stock levels of edible oil. - Monitor shipping schedules to avoid delays or stockouts, aligning with production and sales forecasts. - implement cost-saving measures in transportation, warehousing, and distribution. 

5. Risk Management:

  • Identify and mitigate risks related to global supply chain disruptions, changes in trade regulations,
  • Develop contingency plans for potential import delays or shortages,

6. Documentation and Record Keeping:- Ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of import documentation, of lading, invoices, packing including bills lists, and certificates of origin.- Maintain detailed records of all imports, shipments, and related costs. 

Essential Skills (behavioral/technical) :

- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of import regulations, documentation, and International trade laws- Technical skills: Proficiency in ERP systems, MS office, and logistics management software. - Analytical skills: Ability to analyze and interpret supply chain data to make informed decisions. - Communication skills: strong negotiation, interpersonal, and written communication skills.- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve operational challenges in a dynamic environment- Language: Fluency in English
