Qualification & Experience:

  • Minimum Qualification: ITI / Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Experience:

Technician: 2–4 years in CNG compressor/booster maintenance

Engineer: 3–6 years in CNG systems, compressor operation, or industrial gas systems

Duties & Responsibilities

Operation & Monitoring - Supervise daily operation of the CNG booster and related systems.

  • Verify correct operation parameters: suction/discharge pressure, temperature, oil level, vibration, and motor current.

  • Ensure proper coordination with site operator and control room.

  • Support in starting/stopping and troubleshooting booster system during shift.

Preventive Maintenance (PM) - Execute scheduled preventive maintenance as per PM plan.

  • Inspect belts, filters, valves, sensors, and interlocks.

  • Replace consumables (oil, filters, gaskets) as per maintenance schedule.

  • Check and maintain lubrication, cooling, and control systems.

Breakdown & Corrective Maintenance - Attend site breakdowns (mechanical/electrical) promptly.

  • Diagnose faults in compressor, motor, or control circuit.

  • Rectify gas/oil/water leakages.

  • Coordinate with OEM or head office for spares and technical support.

  • Prepare service report and get client sign-off after completion.

Safety & Compliance - Follow standard safety protocols and permit systems.

  • Ensure use of PPE and maintain safe working conditions.

  • Conduct gas leakage tests and ensure all safety devices function properly.

  • Adhere to company and client HSE policies.

Documentation & Reporting - Maintain daily operation and maintenance logs.

  • Record readings, parts replaced, and actions taken.

  • Submit detailed service reports after each maintenance or complaint.

  • Keep maintenance records updated for audit and review.

Technical Support & Training - Provide guidance to operators for routine operation.

  • Assist in installation, commissioning, and testing of new units.

  • Report recurring issues and suggest design or procedural improvements.

  • Participate in internal technical training sessions.

Coordination & Communication - Coordinate with client/site in-charge for planning maintenance activities.

  • Communicate spares and material requirements.

  • Ensure timely escalation of critical issues to management.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of CNG booster system (mechanical, electrical & instrumentation)
  • Hands-on experience with PLC-based systems and sensors
  • Fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices
  • Good communication and documentation ability
  • Commitment to safety and quality

Work Conditions:

  • Frequent travel to CNG stations / client sites
  • Rotational or emergency call duty
  • Work in outdoor environments (exposure to noise, gas, heat)
  • Must wear PPE and comply with safety guidelines
