The Role: Apprentice - Project Coordinator (Platts Technology)

Your Impact: The Apprentice - Project Coordinator will be an essential member of the Agile Project Management Office (APMO), focusing on learning and supporting the foundational practices of project and portfolio management within the Platts organization.

You will assist the APMO team and its members by:

  • Providing support for the Agile Tools used by technology teams.
  • Responding to basic queries and requests from the APMO and Technology teams.
  • Shadowing APMO team members to learn and provide initial guidance on overall Agile Framework processes and tool usage.

The Team / The Business

The Agile Project Management Office (APMO) is a virtual team within the Platts Technology and Innovation organization. We support all Platts Technology, Product Management, Scrum Masters, and other teams whose work impacts Platts services. We are a high-energy, motivated team, and we are committed to mentoring the next generation of project professionals.

  • Work alongside experienced professionals who will serve as your mentors.

Key Responsibilities:

Your major responsibilities in this apprenticeship will focus on support and foundational execution:

  • Supporting all Platts Technology tools, including assisting with basic team/dashboard setup, data entry, data management, and updating training documentation.
  • Assisting functional teams in gathering and documenting basic requirements for upcoming tool or process changes.
  • Ensuring that key project documentation is accurately filed and completed.
  • Scheduling and organizing meetings with technical resources and business partners.
  • Learning and ensuring that execution of tasks complies with relevant departmental processes.
  • Working with the APMO team to support the development and delivery of process training materials.
  • Assisting with APMO governance initiatives to ensure the timely collection and accurate status updates of the project portfolio.
  • Identifying and documenting minor process improvement opportunities.

What We're Looking For:

Basic Qualifications (Must Haves):

  • Good communication and strong interpersonal skills required.
  • A proven willingness to learn, a positive service-oriented attitude, and an ability to work effectively in a high-demand environment.
  • Familiarity or willingness to quickly learn Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence, Wiki).
  • Basic data analysis skills using Excel.
  • The ability to manage and prioritize multiple, concurrent entry-level tasks.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Haves):

  • Some coursework or personal interest in Agile methodology or basic project management methods.
  • Experience with collaboration or Agile tools like Azure DevOps (ADO) or Jira.
  • Academic exposure or an interest in working in a Technology or Operations environment.

Education:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor's or associate degree in business, Technology, Operations, or a related field, OR equivalent demonstrated interest/coursework.
