Job Summary:

We are looking for an engineer experienced in camera pipelines, Linux kernel development, and driver-level integration for ISP and camera sensors. The role involves working with Camera HAL, V4L2, MIPI CSI-2, and buffer management for high-performance camera systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Integrate camera sensors and ISP using
    Camera HAL / V4L2
    frameworks.
  • Work on
    capture request flow
    from Android Camera2 API to kernel driver.
  • Implement and debug
    Camera HAL
    and
    Camera Provider
    interactions.
  • Develop and maintain
    Linux kernel drivers
    for camera hardware.
  • Use
    tasklets and workqueues
    for deferred work in kernel space.
  • Manage buffers using
    C/C++ pointers and data structures
    in kernel or driver context.
  • Write simple
    V4L2 camera sensor drivers
    and handle buffer flow between kernel and userspace.
  • Debug
    MIPI CSI-2 interface issues
    (frame drops, latency, sync problems).
  • Optimize performance and ensure
    stable frame delivery
    to ISP and userspace.

Required Skills:

  • Strong experience in
    Linux kernel / device driver development
  • Hands-on with
    Camera HAL, V4L2, ISP pipelines
  • Good understanding of
    MIPI CSI-2
    protocol
  • Experience with
    buffer management (dma_buf, scatter-gather, ring buffers)
  • Knowledge of
    tasklets vs workqueues
    and when to use each
  • Proficiency in
    C/C++ and pointer-based data structures

Good to Have:

  • Android
    Camera2 API
    experience
  • Debugging tools:
    trace, ftrace, printk, perf
  • Experience with
    embedded systems / SoC cameras
