A Senior SEM Specialist is a digital marketing professional who plays a crucial role in driving qualified traffic to a website and boosting conversions through paid search advertising. They work under the guidance of an SEM manager and are responsible for the day-to-day execution and optimization of SEM campaigns.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Develop, manage, and optimize PPC campaigns across various platforms (Google Ads, Bing Ads, etc.) to achieve targeted reach and conversions.
  • Perform comprehensive keyword research, leveraging tools like Google Keyword Planner, SEMrush, or Ahrefs to identify high-value keywords that align with campaign goals.
  • Build keyword strategies based on target audience behavior, search trends, and competitor analysis to maximize campaign effectiveness.
  • Develop persuasive ad copy that resonates with the target audience and ensures clear alignment with campaign objectives.
  • Continuously track key metrics like CTR, CPC, and conversion rates to gain insights and identify trends for campaign optimization.
  • Optimize bids, ad creatives, and landing pages based on data analysis to improve campaign performance and maximize return on investment (ROI).
  • Plan and execute A/B tests on various campaign elements, including ad creatives, landing pages, and other components, to identify the most effective strategies.
  • Analyze test results and implement them to continuously improve campaign performance and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Work closely with SEO specialists to ensure a cohesive digital marketing strategy that leverages both organic and paid search strategies.
  • Effectively manage campaign budgets to deliver desired outcomes, monitoring spending and adjusting budgets based on campaign performance and ROI goals.
  • Generate regular performance reports that detail key metrics and actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Create dashboards and presentations to effectively communicate campaign results, strategies, and insights.
  • Plan and monitor email campaigns and submit the reports to the Business Development Team. Monitor competitors' SEM activities to identify opportunities and threats, developing strategies to stay ahead in search engine results.
  • Collaborate with design, copywriting, and development teams to ensure a cohesive and effective SEM approach.
  • Continuously stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and search engine algorithm updates to maintain optimal campaign performance.
  • Implement new SEM technologies and tools to enhance campaign performance and stay ahead of the curve.
  • Ensure adherence to SEM best practices, policies, and legal requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), while maintaining ethical standards in advertising and data usage.
  • Perform essential administrative tasks related to SEM campaigns, such as account maintenance and billing.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Familiarity with marketing automation tools and CRM software.
  • SEM Platform Proficiency
  • Experience in A/B testing, performance analysis, and ROI optimization. Ability to set and manage SEM budgets effectively.
  • Ability to think creatively to devise innovative SEM strategies and campaigns.
  • Understanding of HTML/CSS and website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to track and measure campaign performance.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Adaptability and willingness to adjust strategies based on performance data and market changes.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in marketing or a related field.
  • Should have 3+ Years experience in the same domain.
  • Proven working experience in Search Engine marketing (within the industry will be an added advantage).
  • Demonstrable experience leading and managing SEM team, marketing database, and SEO campaigns.
  • Solid knowledge of SEO analytics tools.
  • Experience in setting up and optimizing paid campaigns.
