Job Description:

We are looking to hire a Lab Assistant (Workshop) for our Mechanical Engineering Department. The candidate will support workshop and laboratory activities, assist faculty during practical sessions, and ensure smooth operation and maintenance of workshop equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist faculty and students during workshop and lab sessions
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot workshop machines and tools
  • Prepare lab setups and materials for practical classes
  • Ensure safety procedures and proper use of equipment
  • Maintain inventory of tools, consumables, and spare parts
  • Keep workshop and lab areas clean, organized, and functional
  • Support minor repairs and routine maintenance of machines

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Qualification:
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering OR
  • ITI / CTI in relevant Mechanical trade
  • Experience:
  • 2–3 years of relevant workshop/lab experience (Educational institute preferred)

Skills & Requirements:

  • Hands-on knowledge of mechanical workshop practices
  • Familiarity with lathe, milling, fitting, welding, and basic machining operations
  • Basic understanding of safety standards in engineering workshops
  • Ability to assist students and coordinate with faculty
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
