About the role:

We are looking for an experienced candidate who should have an in-depth knowledge of HTML, CSS , ARIA and the concepts of web accessibility; an up-to-date knowledge on the range of assistive technology available to people with a disability; with good communication skills

What youll do:

  • Conduct accessibility evaluations and audits of digital products, including websites, single page web applications, mobile applications, and software, using a variety of testing tools and assistive technologies.
  • Identify accessibility issues and barriers for users with disabilities and provide detailed reports and recommendations for remediation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and product managers, to integrate accessibility best practices into the development process.
  • Perform manual accessibility testing using screen readers, keyboard navigation, and other assistive technologies to verify compliance with accessibility standards, such as WCAG 2.2 and ADA.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to digital accessibility.

What were looking for:

  • In-depth knowledge of accessibility standards and guidelines, such as WCAG, ADA, and Section 508.
  • Knowledge on ARIA mandatory
  • Proficiency in using accessibility testing tools, such as screen readers (e.g., VoiceOver, JAWS), automated testing tools (e.g., Axe, WAVE), and browser developer tools.
  • Experience with assistive technologies and accessibility features across various platforms and devices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and prioritize accessibility issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex accessibility concepts and recommendations to diverse stakeholders.
  • Certifications in accessibility testing or related areas (e.g., IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies, Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS), DHS Trusted tester) are a plus
