The Spares Parts Manager is responsible for managing the inventory, procurement, storage, and distribution of spare parts to ensure smooth service operations and customer satisfaction. This role requires effective coordination with service, sales, and logistics teams to maintain optimal stock levels and ensure timely availability of parts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the spare parts department.
  • Plan and maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for timely procurement and price negotiations.
  • Monitor stock movement and maintain accurate records in ERP or inventory systems.
  • Ensure correct identification, labeling, and storage of all spare parts.
  • Forecast demand based on service and sales requirements.
  • Manage returns, warranty claims, and obsolete inventory.
  • Generate periodic stock reports and monitor parts consumption trends.
  • Develop and implement parts sales strategies to improve profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and audit requirements.
  • Lead, train, and supervise the parts team for efficient operations.
  • Work closely with workshop/service managers to ensure parts availability for repair jobs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, suppliers, and customers.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of spare parts management and inventory control.
  • Familiarity with automotive / machinery components and catalogues.
  • Proficiency in ERP or inventory management software.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with good problem-solving ability.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
