Job Title: Lathe Turner – Conventional Lathe

Location: Coimbatore

Company: Thalir Automations

Department: Machine shop

Work Hours: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Salary: ₹16,000 – ₹20,000 per month (based on experience)

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Lathe Operator to work on conventional (manual) lathe machine. The candidate will be responsible for performing precision machining operations on metal components as per engineering drawings and supervisor instructions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate conventional lathe machines for turning, facing, threading, boring, and other machining tasks.
  • Interpret basic machining drawings and job instructions.
  • Measure and inspect components using basic measuring instruments (vernier caliper, micrometer, etc.).
  • Load, align, and secure workpieces properly on the machine.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools and set correct machine parameters.
  • Maintain clean and safe work conditions.
  • Report any machine or material issues to the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Basic technical education (ITI or equivalent preferred)
  • 1–2 years of experience operating a conventional lathe
  • Ability to read and understand basic engineering/mechanical drawings
  • Knowledge of cutting speeds, feeds, and measurements
  • Physically fit and able to work on a shop floor
