About the job

We are seeking a highly skilled PCB Reliability Engineer with strong, hands-on experience using Ansys Sherlock Automated Design Analysis software. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing in-depth reliability assessments of PCB designs, including thermal, vibration, mechanical shock, and other stress-related simulations. This role requires an individual with a deep understanding of electronics reliability, failure mechanisms, and practical experience integrating Sherlock into the hardware design lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience using Sherlock Automated Design Analysis software.
  • Strong understanding of PCB design, materials, and layout principles.
  • Use Sherlock software to conduct PCB-level reliability simulations including: Thermal analysis (steady state and transient).
  • Vibration and mechanical shock analysis.
  • Plated through-hole fatigue, solder joint fatigue, and component life prediction.
  • Drop impact and handling stress simulations.
  • Interpret simulation results to identify design risks and provide actionable design recommendations.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware design, mechanical, and test engineering teams to drive design improvements based on reliability insights.
  • Integrate Sherlock simulations into design reviews and product development processes.
  • Generate comprehensive reports summarizing analysis methodology, findings, and reliability predictions.
  • Stay up to date on the latest updates and capabilities of Sherlock software and apply best practices in reliability engineering.
  • Support failure analysis and root cause investigations as needed.
