We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Design Engineer with hands-on experience in AutoCAD (2D & 3D) and SolidWorks. The candidate will be responsible for developing precise design drawings, mechanical models, and production-ready fabrication details for steel and sheet metal components. You will collaborate closely with the production, fabrication, and project teams to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and SolidWorks for sheet metal, fabrication, and assembly designs.
  • Develop and maintain engineering drawings, BOMs, and documentation for production.
  • Prepare GA drawings, sectional details, and fabrication layouts for manufacturing and client approval.
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure design feasibility and resolve fabrication challenges.
  • Update existing designs as per revision requests or project specifications.
  • Ensure drawing standards, tolerances, and dimensioning comply with company and industry norms.
  • Support design automation, template creation, and efficient drawing workflow improvements.
  • Coordinate with QC and production teams for design-to-production validation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Diploma / B.Tech / BE in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in sheet metal design, fabrication, or related mechanical industries.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D) and SolidWorks (Part, Assembly, and Drawing modules).
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal design principles, material behavior, and fabrication processes.
  • Familiar with GD&T, tolerances, and dimensioning standards.
  • Ability to interpret and create detailed mechanical and fabrication drawings.
  • Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred (Added Advantage)

  • Experience in door/frame/hardware design or metal fabrication industry.
  • Knowledge of ERP-based design workflows or design automation tools (VBA, macros).
  • Exposure to manufacturing process optimization or production planning collaboration.
