What You'll Be Doing

• You will identify the precise test infrastructure required for a variety of testing scenarios, ensuring it meets operational and safety standards.
• Your deep understanding of electrical safety and grounding schemes will guide all test activities, allowing for a proactive approach to compliance.
• You will assess test setups to ensure they meet standard conditions, acting as the first line of defence against possible discrepancies.
• In this strategic role, you will take overall responsibility for the preparation of test specifications, guaranteeing that deliverables are both timely and of high quality.
• You will ensure that the setup aligns with both the test plan and technical specifications, mitigating any risks related to test execution.
• Your commitment to quality will see you ensuring that all product and generic standards are adhered to, referencing key guidelines such as UL, IEC, and EN.
• You'll proactively provide insights and data for feasibility studies, working closely with the lab team on the availability of critical consumables and testing equipment.
• Performing final approval tests per UL and CE approval schemes will be a key part of your role, ensuring that only the highest quality products reach our customers.
• Proficiency with test management tools will be essential for daily test execution and defect reporting, allowing for effective tracking and resolution of issues.
• Collaborating with design and approval teams, you will analyse results and provide comprehensive feedback that drives product innovation.
• Your keen eye for detail will assist in reviewing test artifacts such as test plans, specifications, and results, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Risk management will be another vital aspect of your role, as you effectively identify challenges related to product approvals and devise suitable solutions.
• Identifying root causes of issues and recommending actionable solutions will reflect your strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• You will offer guidance to UL and LVD test engineers, enhancing their understanding of test specifications and applicable standards.
• A comprehensive grasp of the UL CTDP programme will equip you to maintain a list of external labs, ensuring scope and compliance with relevant standards.

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience in identifying required test infrastructure for a diverse range of testing activities.
• A thorough understanding of electrical safety protocols and grounding practices is essential.
• Analytical skills to assess whether test setups comply with standard conditions, with a strong attention to detail.
• Experience in preparing comprehensive test specifications, ensuring information is precise and artefacts meet quality standards.
• Ability to ensure test setups comply with technical specifications and industry standards consistently.
• Familiarity with UL, IEC, and EN standards is expected to ensure compliance during testing.
• Experience providing feasibility inputs for consumables and test equipment availability for critical tests.
• Proven ability to perform approval tests in compliance with UL and CE standards.
• Proficiency in utilizing test management tools for efficient test execution and defect tracking.
• Strong collaboration skills to analyse results effectively with design engineers and approval teams.
• Capable of identifying risks and challenges associated with product approvals, whilst effectively managing responses.
• A solution-focused mindset to determine root causes of challenges and recommend actionable insights.
• Ability to guide less experienced engineers in understanding test specifications and standards while fostering a knowledge-sharing environment.
• A solid understanding of the UL CTDP programme along with experience maintaining relationships with external testing laboratories.
