Manager, Reinsurance Financial Reporting

Know it matters. Reinsurance Finance function in India supports the quarterly closing and reporting process of Reinsurance Business. There are different sub-processes performed by Reinsurance Financial reporting team in India which includes but is not limited to: Quarter end Close Process, Management and Regulatory Reporting Process, Reconciliation Process, Planning Process and Business Analysis Process. This position will be supporting the Insurance Linked Securities (ILS) business.

What you'll be DOING

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Lead and manage the ILS Team in India.
  • Accountable for ensuring correct accounting for ILS programs and investors.
  • Accountable for ensuring accuracy of financial reporting of ILS programs.
  • Accountable for preparation of annual audited and/or unaudited financial statements for directors, investors and the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA).
  • Ensure preparation of Monthly Financial Statements for investors.
  • Drive the preparation of NAV and submission of NAV to investors.
  • Ensure the collateral meets the terms of the agreement and calculate collateral release.
  • Ensure all capital activity is reported for the period.
  • Organize the preparation, review and settlement of bordereau reports.
  • Coordinate financial settlements with investors and internal regions.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors and drive year-end and quarterly audits.
  • Maintain effective communication with teams based globally and manage expectations.
  • Drive continuous development and improvement of ILS financial reporting.
  • Support Ad-hoc requests.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation.
  • Knowledge of Oracle EFR, Qlik, Power BI & HFM will be an added advantage.

You will report to Delivery Lead, Reinsurance Financial Reporting.

What you will BRING

We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Accounting and Analytical skills: MBA Finance with relevant experience or CA with relevant experience  in Financial Accounting, Investments or Insurance Linked Securities.
  • Excellent Accounting knowledge preferably on IFRS4 and IFRS17 – review Journal Entries, Income Statement Analysis, Balance Sheet, calculation of NAVs, External Investor reporting etc. Insurance or Reinsurance experience preferred.
  • People Management: Should have relevant years of experience in directly handling a team. Responsible for running the monthly/quarterly one-on-one's and annual performance appraisals.
  • Communication skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Able to work and communicate effectively as part of a cross-geographic, cross-organizational and cross-cultural team. Experience of managing communication and expectations with Senior Management preferred.

  • MS Office skills: Should have robust MS Excel skills.
  • Good team player and ability to work resiliently.
  • Outstanding customer-focus and results oriented.
