About the Role

Mohan Motors is seeking an experienced Warranty Manager & Workshop Manager to oversee the complete warranty operations and workshop management for the Ashok Leyland Commercial Vehicles division. This dual-role position requires strong technical expertise, leadership ability, and a deep understanding of commercial vehicle service operations. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth warranty claims processing, efficient workshop functioning, customer satisfaction, and adherence to Ashok Leyland's standards and guidelines.

Key ResponsibilitiesWarranty Management

  • Manage end-to-end warranty claim processing as per Ashok Leyland's policies and guidelines.
  • Ensure timely submission, follow-up, and closure of warranty claims.
  • Monitor claim timelines, approvals, rejections, and maintain MIS reports.
  • Coordinate with Ashok Leyland officials for claim audits, approvals, and compliance.
  • Maintain quality assurance and adherence to OEM standards across all documentation.
  • Analyze claim trends, failures, and provide technical feedback to improve workshop performance.

Workshop Management

  • Oversee daily workshop operations for commercial vehicles, ensuring productivity and efficiency.
  • Allocate jobs to technicians based on skills, workload, and operational priorities.
  • Conduct daily morning meetings, review job progress, and monitor TAT (Turnaround Time).
  • Ensure effective resource planning, workshop layout efficiency, and manpower utilization.
  • Handle customer escalations professionally and ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment as per OEM audit standards.

Team Leadership & Governance

  • Lead, train, and mentor the workshop and warranty team to achieve performance targets.
  • Build a collaborative and high-performing team culture with focus on quality and service excellence.
  • Guide the team through challenging technical cases or customer issues.
  • Set KPIs for teams and individuals, and monitor performance regularly.
  • Conduct regular internal and external governance reviews.

Process & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Ashok Leyland service processes, warranty guidelines, and corporate standards.
  • Review and implement process improvements to meet evolving business needs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, records, and reporting for audits.
  • Work closely with parts, service advisors, technicians, and CRM teams for smooth operations.

Required Skills and ExperienceFunctional Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of Ashok Leyland Commercial Vehicle warranty systems and processes.
  • Experience in handling warranty audits, technical cases, and claim management.
  • Proficiency in using DMS, CRM, SAP, or similar dealer management systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and a digital-first approach.

Technical Skills

  • In-depth understanding of commercial vehicle aggregates, electrical and mechanical systems, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to interpret technical reports, job cards, and diagnostic data.

Leadership Skills

  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage workshop & warranty teams.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills with OEM, customers, and internal departments.
  • Ability to drive productivity, discipline, and process improvements.

Language Proficiency

  • Must be fluent in English (Read, Write, Speak).
  • Local language proficiency is an added advantage.
