Civil Design Engineer Power Plant/EPC Sector

We are urgently hiring for Civil Design profile across multiple experience levels having 7 to 15 years' experience in analysis and design of heavy industrial structures (reinforced concrete, structural steel, composite, etc.), foundation analysis and design, design basis, etc

Job Role: Sr. Engineer/ Asso. Manager/ Manager- Civil Design

Job Description

Core Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and review of Design Basis, Specifications, and Tender Documents for civil, structural, geotechnical, and site grading works.
  • Execution and validation of design calculations for foundations, substructures, superstructures, trenches, roads, and drainage systems.
  • Preliminary sizing and layout of structures including buildings and RCC foundations.
  • Development and review of GA drawings, reinforcement detailing, and sectional drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM tools.
  • Integration of constructability and safety-in-design principles across all design stages.
  • Review of fabrication drawings, steel connections, and coordination with MEP and utility inputs.
  • Interpretation of geotechnical reports and coordination with survey teams for layout planning.
  • Support in design optimization, cost estimation, and preparation of BOQs, MTOs, and bid documents.
  • Responding to site RFIs, managing design queries, and ensuring cross-disciplinary coordination.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in STAAD-Pro, ETABS, SAFE, Tekla Structures, IDEA Statica, and BIM tools.
  • Skilled in dynamic analysis (response spectrum, time history), seismic design, and stress analysis of pressure vessels and rotating equipment.
  • Familiar with international codes: IS, ASCE, AISC, ACI, ASME.
  • Competent in Python, MATLAB, Mathcad, and MS Office for engineering computations and documentation.

Industry Experience:

  • Specialized in Power Plant and EPC projects, including design of foundations for steam turbines, boilers, chimneys, cooling towers, and vibrating machinery.
  • Exposure to modular steel structures, seismic zone detailing, and onsite construction practices.
  • Advantageous knowledge of Japanese language for international collaboration.

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Active contributor to design team meetings, proposal preparation, and project presentations.
  • Effective team management, documentation, and inter-disciplinary coordination.
