We are looking for a skilled and knowledgeable Site Civil Engineer to join our team in
Liberia
for ongoing and upcoming solar energy projects. The ideal candidate must have hands-on expertise in concrete and earthworks, along with a solid background in civil works related to solar farm construction. This role involves managing site operations, ensuring compliance with project specifications, and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality civil construction work efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all civil construction activities at solar project sites, including earthworks, foundations for mounting structures, inverter pads, cable trenching, and drainage systems.
  • Ensure that works are executed in accordance with project specifications, civil drawings, and engineering codes.
  • Monitor on-site progress and ensure the timely achievement of civil-related project milestones.
  • Manage subcontractors, laborers, and material usage to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Conduct site inspections and quality control checks for concrete pouring, compaction, grading, and trenching.
  • Implement quality control and assurance procedures to maintain high construction standards.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental guidelines, local regulations, and health & safety protocols.
  • Work closely with solar project managers, electrical engineers, and structural teams to align civil works with overall project goals.
  • Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and availability of civil construction materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of civil activities, prepare site reports, and communicate updates with key stakeholders.
  • Identify civil-related site risks and assist in developing and executing mitigation strategies.
  • Enforce site safety regulations and conduct regular toolbox talks and safety inspections.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • 7 to 10 years in site execution, with expertise in solar project civil works
  • Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, especially in utility-scale solar PV or renewable energy infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and project scheduling software.
  • Understanding of structural engineering principles and geotechnical considerations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management.
