  • Job Purpose
  • To ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operation and maintenance of Material Handling Systems (MHS) and Mill Feed section by implementing effective preventive and predictive maintenance practices, minimizing breakdowns, and optimizing equipment performance for uninterrupted production.
    1. Key Responsibilities
  • A. Operation & Maintenance
  • Plan, schedule, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance for MHS & Mill Feed equipment.
  • Ensure equipment availability as per production targets and minimize unplanned breakdowns.
  • Monitor and control maintenance KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, downtime %).
  • Supervise day-to-day maintenance activities — conveyors, feeders, belt weighers, airslides, bag filters, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Coordinate with Electrical, Instrumentation, and Process teams for smooth plant operation.
  • B. Reliability & Continuous Improvement
  • Identify chronic issues and implement root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Drive equipment reliability improvement through predictive maintenance (vibration, thermography, oil analysis, etc.).
  • Optimize spares consumption and improve mean life of critical components.
  • Implement Kaizen, 5S, and cost-saving initiatives in maintenance practices.
  • C. Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and statutory requirements during all maintenance jobs.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, job safety analysis, and ensure permit-to-work (PTW) adherence.
  • Maintain documentation for ISO, EMS, and audit purposes.
  • D. Manpower & Contractor Management
  • Supervise maintenance crew and contractor workforce during shifts.
  • Ensure skill development and training for team members.
  • Monitor contractor job quality, safety, and cost control.
  • E. Inventory & Budget Control
  • Raise maintenance indents, monitor spares availability, and support inventory optimization.
  • Support budgeting, cost tracking, and variance analysis.
    1. Education & Experience
  • Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience: 7–10 years in cement plant maintenance, preferably in Grinding Unit / MHS / Mill Feed section.
  • Knowledge: Conveying systems, mechanical drives, hydraulic systems, rotary & static equipment
