Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Payment Operations & Tax Compliance
Specialist with hands-on experience in 1099S and 1120 filings, fund distribution, and
reconciliation processes. The ideal candidate will manage secure fund transfers, ensure tax
compliance, coordinate with project teams, and maintain accurate and confidential claimant
data.
Key Responsibilities
Payment Operations & Distribution
• Manage secure fund transfers and ensure compliance with tax regulations (including
1099S & 1120 filings).
• Execute payments to eligible claimants via wire transfers, e-payments, cheques, and
approved banking platforms.
• Review claim reconciliation reports, validate distribution files, and ensure accuracy of
payment data.
• Perform routine financial tasks including bank reconciliations, check file generation,
reissues, case closures, and administrative activities.
Data Management & Reporting
• Maintain accurate and confidential claims data with high levels of integrity.
• Prepare detailed reports for courts, stakeholders, and internal teams regarding process
status and outcomes.
• Use tools like , CAS, and Court Link to track tasks, manage tickets,
and generate reports.
• Review request tickets and provide required reports, updates, and role assignments.
Coordination & Communication
• Collaborate with internal project teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment
throughout the distribution lifecycle.
• Communicate professionallyboth verbally and in writing—to clarify project
requirements and updates.
• Handle special requests including EIN applications, funding invoices, and non-class
member payments.
• Accurately track and report all hours worked on each assigned project. Requirements
Technical Skills
• Experience in 1099S and 1120 tax processes (mandatory).
• Knowledge of Bank Reconciliation, Tax Filing, and payment processing.
• High proficiency in MS Office Suite (especially Excel), SharePoint, and
• Familiarity with CAS, Court Link, and other reporting/tracking tools.
Professional Skills
• Strong attention to detail with accuracy in repetitive tasks.
• Critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and ability to work in a fast-paced
environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a calm and professional
demeanor.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and flexibility with shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in the legal services industry, financial services, or service-based
operations.
• Background in claims management, compliance, or payment processing
