Role & responsibilities

A. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

  • Execute preventive maintenance (PM) as per schedule for critical and non-critical equipment.
  • Support predictive maintenance programsvibration analysis, thermography, NDT, ultrasound checks.
  • Monitor equipment health and escalate abnormalities.

B. Breakdown Management

  • Attend breakdowns promptly and ensure minimum MTTR.
  • Conduct RCA for repeated failures using 5-Why, Fishbone, FMEA tools.
  • Implement corrective & preventive actions (CAPA).

C. Equipment Reliability & Performance Monitoring

  • Monitor daily equipment KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, availability, utilization).
  • Support lubrication management, alignment, balancing, and calibration.
  • Ensure reliability of key equipment—kiln, VRM, conveyors, crushers, fans, etc.

D. Spares & Inventory Coordination

  • Identify critical spares and coordinate with Stores & Purchase.
  • Monitor consumption patterns and initiate reorder proposals.
  • Support codification, BOM updating, and inventory optimization.

E. Safety, Compliance & Housekeeping

  • Ensure compliance with safety SOPs, LO/TO, permit-to-work, and audit requirements.
  • Maintain 5S standards in Mechanical sections.
  • Participate in safety training and toolbox talks.

F. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain PM checklists, breakdown logs, job cards, work orders, RCA reports.
  • Prepare shift reports, maintenance KPIs, and action plans.
  • Ensure accurate data entry in CMMS/ERP.

G. Project & Improvement Initiatives

  • Support installation, commissioning, and modification projects.
  • Drive cost reduction, energy savings, and reliability improvement projects.
  • Participate in Kaizen, AM/PM pillar activities, and improvement reviews.
