Senior Wet Utility Designer

Role & responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and coordination of wet utility systems:
  • Potable water supply (transmission & distribution)
  • Sewerage systems (collection & disposal)
  • Stormwater drainage
  • Recycled/greywater reuse systems
  • Perform hydraulic and hydrological modeling using tools such as EPANET, SewerGEMS, StormCAD, WaterGEMS, or SWMM.
  • Prepare conceptual layouts, detailed engineering drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
  • Ensure designs comply with CPHEEO, IS codes, MoUD guidelines, and local authority norms.
  • Coordinate with civil, structural, electrical, and planning teams to ensure seamless service integration.
  • Interface with government authorities, ULBs, and SPVs for design approvals, NOCs, and utility interface management.
  • Support the preparation of DPRs, feasibility reports, and tender documentation.
  • Provide technical inputs during procurement and support construction teams during implementation.
  • Lead a team of junior engineers and CAD designers, ensuring quality and timely delivery.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in hydraulic design tools (e.g., WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, StormCAD, EPANET).
  • Skilled in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS platforms for utility layout preparation.
  • Deep understanding of CPHEEO, NBC, IS codes, and local authority design criteria.
  • Experience preparing utility master plans, phasing strategies, and resilience plans.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordination with clients, consultants, and authorities.
  • Ability to manage design teams and interface across disciplines.
