Location: Guwahati, Assam
Position: Professor (Any Discipline)
Reports To: Dean / Head of School / Vice Chancellor / Professor
Role Overview
The Professor will be a senior academic leader responsible for teaching, research, mentoring, and contributing to the overall academic and administrative growth of the University. The role involves advancing knowledge through high-quality teaching, impactful research, publications, and fostering innovation while upholding the values and vision of the University.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Academic Duties
- Deliver lectures, seminars, workshops, and tutorials at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels.
- Design and update curriculum in alignment with UGC/AICTE/NEP 2020 guidelines and industry needs.
- Develop innovative pedagogy, e-learning tools, and blended learning methods.
- Supervise student dissertations, projects, internships, and doctoral research.
- Evaluate student performance through fair and transparent assessments.
Research & Publications
- Conduct high-quality, original research in the respective field.
- Publish in reputed peer-reviewed journals (Scopus/Web of Science/UGC CARE).
- Secure external research funding, grants, and consultancy projects.
- Present research at national and international conferences.
- Collaborate with academia, industry, and government bodies for applied research.
Mentoring & Leadership
- Guide, mentor, and supervise Ph.D./M.Phil. scholars and junior faculty.
- Act as a role model, fostering ethical academic practices and lifelong learning.
- Nurture student talent, innovation, and entrepreneurial initiatives.
Administration & Institutional Development
- Participate in academic councils, boards of studies, and administrative committees.
- Support accreditation processes (NAAC, NBA, NIRF, QS rankings).
- Contribute to policy-making, strategic planning, and academic governance.
- Assist in establishing new programs, collaborations, and centers of excellence.
Community Engagement & Professional Contribution
- Participate in outreach, consultancy, and extension activities.
- Build strong connections with industry, alumni, and professional bodies.
- Promote knowledge dissemination through workshops, seminars, and public lectures.
Qualifications & Experience
As per UGC/AICTE/PCI/COA norms, depending on discipline. Generally:
Ph.D. in the relevant/allied discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of teaching/research/industry experience in a recognized institution.
- At least 10 publications in peer-reviewed/UGC-listed journals.
- Successful supervision of Ph.D. candidates is preferred.
