The organization works closely with government agencies, academic institutions, and local farming communities to implement projects that promote sustainable resource management.

Purpose of the Position:
CIPT seeks a Programme Lead for the governance and program management of ongoing work at CIPT. He/She will partner and work closely with various teams within the organization (Field Operations Management, Data Science, M&E, Training and HR-Administration) to ensure that cross-functional programs are managed in a consistent manner and delivered on time, whilst working externally with partners to build engagement and where needed governance over decisions to be taken.

The following are the key purpose of the position:

  • Work on multiple project priorities in parallel depending on the priorities of different teams.
  • Foster clear communication with stakeholders (teams, partners, funders, etc) to provide direction, support and insights to build trust and alignment to the project's goals.
  • Conduct research and collaborate with the M&E team to develop appropriate metrics to monitor progress, inform program decisions, identify best practices and ensure continuous improvement of the program.
  • Take forth the organization's strategy and expansion plan by supporting in partnership developments efforts to secure resources and expertise, in effective communication of program goals and impact and knowledge management.

Key Responsibilities:
Project and people Management :

  • Provide General directions and oversee the projects schedule, achieve milestones and maintain timelines and quality outcomes.
  • Manage the programs from start to finish, e.g. identifying tasks and subtasks, setting deadlines, identifying and anticipating problems and elevating where necessary for quick resolution.
  • Coordinate the work of Programme Managers, and guide Programme Associates/Officers and guide them on different project priorities.
  • Ensure that programme deliverables are submitted on time.
  • Coordinate with Programme Managers and other senior members of the team on different project priorities including budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Support organizing and presenting results of research/specific impacts of the programme at national/regional conferences, meetings, seminars and workshops and through personal contacts and networks.
  • Assist Research Officers in developing related projects for strengthening and expanding the existing programme of CIPT, presenting research to key constituencies, advisory bodies, conferences & research institutes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, partners, and team members to ensure alignment and support for program initiatives.
  • Convey program objectives, progress, and outcomes by facilitating regular meetings, providing clear and concise updates, and addressing any concerns or feedback promptly.

Communication & Network Building:

  • Coordinate, write, and edit documents, reports and stories while effectively coordinating multiple inputs from diverse staff to develop content for the same.
  • Support the Communications Team to create, curate, and share content that effectively communicates program objectives, achievements, and updates to a broad audience.
  • Plan and manage special events that boost visibility of organization's work among different key stakeholders and partners.
  • Organize promotional campaigns/events and leverage social media platforms for outreach and promotion
  • Work with Communication experts and consultants to manage social media accounts, monitor engagement metrics, and capacity building of the existing team on communications.

Strategy Development:

  • Support the Director in the development of the annual strategies, plans, reports and programme proposals for existing programmes and for the organisation.
  • Support senior members of the team to build a network of donors and partners, demonstrate buy-in from potential funders and stakeholders and play a supporting role in the fund raising process.
  • Work with the Director and Programme Manager(s) to help steward the current portfolio of corporate foundation/private/government donors, and assist in nurturing existing relationships that include personal visits, and regular communications.

Required Qualifications & Experience:**

  • A Master's degree in in Economics, Climate Science, Social Science, Environment, Sustainable Development, or related fields with an emphasis on water, agriculture, and/or environmental issues is required. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with a proactive work style and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce quality deliverables, manage multiple concurrent tasks, meet tight deadlines and coordinate with large team.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and program management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with high-quality English writing and presentation skills.
  • The position is full-time, and the initial appointment will be for one year with the possibility of renewal based on performance. The position is based in CIPT's office in South Delhi.
