Role & responsibilities

  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting:Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on instrumentation and automation systems to ensure optimal plant operation and minimize downtime.
  • Installation & Commissioning:Supervise the installation and commissioning of new instruments and control systems.
  • Calibration:Calibrate instruments and ensure communication with control systems like PLC/DCS.
  • System Management:Manage PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems, including system backups and software updates.
  • Technical Support:Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance teams and collaborate with other departments to improve process control and energy efficiency.
  • Procurement & Budgeting:Prepare technical specifications for new instruments, manage spare parts inventory, and assist in yearly budget preparation.
  • Safety & Compliance:Ensure all activities comply with relevant safety, health, quality, and environmental management procedures.
  • Documentation & Reporting:Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports and shutdown reports.

Key Skills

  • Technical Expertise: Knowledge of various instrumentation types, PLC programming, DCS, and SCADA systems.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to perform root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement effective remedies.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with vendors, other engineering teams, and management.
  • Planning & Organization: Plan and coordinate maintenance activities, including plant shutdowns.
  • Safety Awareness: Adherence to safety standards and procedures.
