Role & responsibilities

  • Operate M1TR (Milling 1 Turret Ram) vertical milling machines safely and efficiently.
  • Perform machining operations such as milling, drilling, boring, slotting, and facing on various materials.
  • Set machine parameters such as feed, speed, and depth of cut based on job requirements
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to understand component specifications.
  • Select appropriate tools, cutters, and fixtures for machining tasks.
  • Align and secure workpieces accurately using jigs, vices, and clamps
  • Knowledge of cutting tools, speeds, and feeds.
  • Experience with machine setup, including fixtures and clamping.
  • Skilled in using Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and dial indicators.
  • Understanding different metals (MS, SS, Aluminum, etc.) and machining techniques for each.
  • Maintain machining logs, job cards, and inspection records.
  • Report production output, material usage, and downtimes to supervisors.

Key Qualifications:

  • Proven experience operating M1Tr (Milling and Turret) machines in a manufacturing or engineering setup.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
  • Skilled in machine setup, calibration, and basic maintenance.
  • Familiarity with cutting tools, fixtures, and gauges for milling operations.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and quality control procedures in machining environments.

Technical Skills:

  • Operation of M1Tr and conventional milling machines
  • Basic knowledge of CNC programming (optional but advantageous)
  • Use of measuring instruments like Vernier calipers, micrometers, dial gauges, etc.
  • Basic understanding of metallurgy and material handling
