Working Hours: 8.30 to 5.00 PM - Monday to Saturday (working hours are flexible & 2nd and 4th Saturday off)

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Australian Tax Accountant to join our team, responsible for protecting and optimizing our financial position through expert tax management. The successful candidate will ensure absolute adherence to all Australian taxation regulations, including the meticulous preparation and timely lodgment of all statutory returns (e.g., Income Tax Returns, BAS, and FBT) with the ATO. This role requires an individual with deep technical knowledge to provide strategic tax planning advice, identify opportunities for tax efficiencies, manage regulatory risk, and serve as the expert liaison for all Australian Taxation Office communications and audit requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preparation and Lodgment: Prepare and accurately lodge various tax returns and statements, including Income Tax Returns (for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships, etc.), Business Activity Statements (BAS), and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
• Record Management: Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential client or company tax records and documentation.
• Statutory Compliance: Ensure all financial reporting and tax practices comply with relevant Australian statutory requirements and standards.
• Legislation Monitoring: Proactively monitor and interpret changes in Australian tax legislation, regulations, and case law (including ATO rulings)
• Team Engagement: Build and maintain strong, professional relationships, clearly communicating complex tax matters and requirements to clients, management, and internal finance teams.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional Certification: Professional qualification such as Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) Australia is highly preferred, or membership in a recognized accounting body.
• Technical Skills: In-depth, practical knowledge of Australian federal and state tax laws. Proficiency in accounting and tax preparation software, along with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Core Competencies: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication, and a commitment to professional ethics and confidentiality.
