Opportunity with Nandan Petrochem Ltd. a Nandan Group Company for oils, lubricants and greases business as a Manager - IT who will be based in our Head Office at Goregaon East in Mumbai.

JOB PROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CANDIDATE :

  • ERP & Database Management: Oversee and maintain the SAP Business One ERP system and its server infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, proper configuration, and data integrity. This includes managing the underlying SQL Server database (backups, tuning, and upgrades) and troubleshooting any ERP or database issues to minimise downtime.
  • Network & Connectivity: Ensure robust IT operations across 28 plants and the Head Office by maintaining reliable network connectivity (LAN/WAN) and server infrastructure at all locations. Monitor and optimise network performance between sites, and troubleshoot connectivity issues promptly to minimise downtime and support business continuity.
  • IT Security: Implement and manage comprehensive IT security measures. Configure and monitor firewalls and VPNs for secure network access, enforce Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies to protect sensitive information, and conduct regular Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) to identify and address security vulnerabilities across the organisations systems.
  • Server & VM Management: Oversee the administration of all servers (physical and virtual) and virtual machines (VMs), including system updates, patch management, and ensuring high availability and performance. Manage the issuance and renewal of SSL certificates for secure system access and website transactions, maintaining up-to-date encryption across services.
  • Systems & Hardware Oversight: Supervise enterprise communication and hardware systems. Manage the Mobile Device Management (MDM) platform to control and secure company mobile devices, oversee corporate telephony systems (EPABX/PBX) to ensure uninterrupted voice communication, and coordinate the maintenance of CCTV and surveillance systems in alignment with IT and security policies.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of 6 IT professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance management to ensure effective IT support and project delivery. Coordinate with other departments (e.g. Finance, Operations) to align IT systems (such as SAP Business One) with business needs and processes and ensure that technology initiatives support overall organisational goals.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external IT vendors and service providers, including hardware suppliers, software/ERP vendors, telecom and ISP partners, and IT consultants. Negotiate contracts and procurement terms, ensure compliance with agreed service level agreements (SLAs), and supervise vendor performance to obtain quality and cost-effective services.
  • IT Projects & DR Planning: Plan and implement IT projects and upgrades (e.g. system enhancements, new site integrations, technology rollouts) while minimising disruption to ongoing operations. Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for critical systems, to ensure rapid restoration of services in case of system failures or outages. Test backup and recovery processes periodically to guarantee data protection.
  • Internet & Cloud Services: Oversee external-facing IT services and infrastructure. Monitor and maintain stable internet connectivity for all sites by liaising with ISPs and ensuring adequate bandwidth and redundancy. Manage the hosting of company websites and web applications, including domain management and DNS/SSL configurations. Supervise any server colocations or cloud services used for off-site backups or system hosting, ensuring they meet the companys availability and security standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS :

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (masters degree or MBA in IT management is a plus).
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of progressive IT experience, including significant exposure to network and server administration (preferably in a multi-site or manufacturing environment).
  • Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification required. Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) (or equivalent Microsoft certification) – required.
  • ERP Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience with SAP Business One ERP software, including system administration, user support.
  • Database Skills: Strong proficiency in managing Microsoft SQL Server and SAP B1 HANA databases (as used by SAP Business One), including performing backups, restores, queries, and performance tuning.
  • Infrastructure Knowledge: Solid understanding of IT infrastructure components – servers, storage, networking (TCP/IP, switching, routing), and network security fundamentals (firewalls, VPN, SSL). Should be well-versed in system security best practices and backup/recovery techniques.
  • Virtualisation: Experience in managing virtualisation platforms (e.g. VMware or Hyper-V) for server consolidation and application deployment. Ability to create, configure, and maintain VMs and troubleshoot virtual environment issues.
  • Multi-site IT Management: Proven capability in supporting IT operations across multiple locations. Prior experience connecting and managing networks for branch offices or plant sites is highly desirable.

  • Project Management: Strong project management and organisational skills. Capable of planning, prioritising, and executing multiple IT projects simultaneously (e.g. system upgrades, deployments) while meeting deadlines and budgets.
  • Technical Acumen: Up-to-date with current IT trends and emerging technologies. Enthusiasm for continuous learning and professional development (e.g. new security technologies, cloud services, IoT relevant to manufacturing).
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Adept at negotiating with vendors and managing contracts. Skilled in building positive relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders, ensuring expectations are clear and deliverables are met.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail in documentation, configuration management, and enforcing compliance with IT policies/standards. Familiarity with ITIL processes or similar IT service management best practices is an advantage.
