JOB DESCRIPTION

1. Cost Analysis & Control: Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs. Identify and report on variances, their causes, and provide recommendations for improvement.

2. Product Costing: Calculate and establish standard costs for raw materials, finished goods, and overheads in a complex manufacturing environment. Maintain and update cost standards in the ERP system (e.g., SAP, Tally,).

3. Inventory Management: Perform month-end closing activities related to inventory, including valuation, reconciliation, and reporting. Oversee physical inventory counts and cycle counts, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.

4. Margin Analysis: Conduct profitability analysis for different product lines, customers, and projects to support strategic pricing and business decisions.

5. Management Reporting: Prepare key internal reports for management, including cost of goods sold (COGS), gross margin analysis, and manufacturing efficiency reports.

6. Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts for manufacturing overheads and production costs.

7. Process Improvement: Continuously identify and implement process improvements within the cost accounting function to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and control.

8. Audit Support: Provide necessary documentation and analysis for internal and statutory audits.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in cost accounting, within a manufacturing industry
  • Strong understanding of costing techniques (Standard Costing, Batch Costing), accounting principles and inventory valuation methods
  • Hands-on experience with any major ERP system / Tally for cost module transactions and reporting.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
