Key Duties and Responsibilities

1.Managing multiple MEP projects, from the design stage to delivery, ensuring minimal problems and adherence to schedules.

2.Preparing cost estimates and design plans for electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, heating, and ventilation systems.

3.Overseeing on-site installation, commissioning, and maintenance of MEP systems.

4.Coordinating with architects, civil engineers, and contractors to ensure compliance with project specifications and all codes/regulations.

5.Providing technical advice, solutions, and clarifications to service providers, supervisors, and inspectors related to MEP features.

6.Periodically inspecting engineering works and validating design issues, suggesting solutions as needed.

7.Reviewing and evaluating contractor drawings, installation methods, and compliance with MEP design plans.

8.Preparing engineering technical specifications, design criteria, tender documents, and relevant reports/memos as required.

9.Managing health and safety on-site and advising teams about necessary compliance practices.

10.Undertaking off-site inspections of equipment/materials and participating in project snagging and defect management.

11.Implementing energy-saving upgrades, sustainable solutions, and offering value engineering inputs.

Essential Skills

1.Proficiency in project management software, AutoCAD, Revit, and related MEP design tools.

2.Detailed knowledge of HVAC, electrical circuits, plumbing systems, building codes, and safety standards.

3.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaborative skills to coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.

  1. Minimum Experience Required between 4 Years to 8 Years.

Typical Work Environment

1.MEP engineers work as part of project management teams, often reporting to a Project Director or Head of Engineering.

  1. They interact with internal staff and external stakeholders, including consultants, planners, construction managers, and quantity surveyors.

  2. Their responsibilities span from civil to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing aspects of construction projects for residential, commercial, and public buildings.
