Conventional Boring

Position: Conventional Boring & Milling Machine Operator

Location: Saudi Arabia

Job Purpose:

To operate and maintain conventional boring and milling machines to perform precision machining operations on metal components according to engineering drawings and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate conventional boring machines and manual milling machines for precision machining tasks.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, machining sketches, and job specifications.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for each machining operation.
• Perform boring, facing, drilling, slotting, and milling operations as required.
• Measure and verify dimensions of finished work using micrometers, vernier calipers, dial gauges, bore gauges, and other precision instruments.
• Maintain tight tolerances and ensure components meet required dimensions and surface finish.
• Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to achieve accuracy.
• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication of machines.
• Ensure safe handling of tools, fixtures, and workpieces during machining.
• Collaborate with supervisors or engineers to clarify specifications when needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area following company safety standards.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Proven experience operating conventional/manual boring machines and manual milling machines.
• Strong knowledge of machining processes and metal-cutting techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and tolerances.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, verniers, dial gauges, bore gauges, etc.).
• Good understanding of machine setup, tool alignment, and fixture setup.
• Ability to maintain accuracy and consistency in machining tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Physically fit to handle machining operations and heavy components.

Preferred:

• Experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or machine shop environment.
• Knowledge of different metals and machining parameters.
• Basic understanding of machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
