Role & responsibilities

1. Costing, Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Prepare review and analyze daily cement cost sheets.
  • Track the consumption and moving average of Raw Material price in SAP.
  • Compliance of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS-04 & CAS-060).
  • Monthly cost projections and variance analysis.
  • Preparation of Annual Business plan/Monthly Business Plan and rolling forecast.
  • Prepare monthly/weekly cash flow projections for operational expenditure.

2. Project Accounting & Setup:

  • Define and manage Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) for CAPEX projects in SAP.
  • Monitor budgets, actuals, commitments, and ensure variance analysis.
  • Track capex projects, monitor budgets vs actuals, and ensure proper capitalization as per IND AS Norms.
  • Validate CWIP movements, asset tagging, AUC closures, and project documentation.
  • Prepare monthly/weekly cash flow projections for capital expenditure.
  • Coordinate with project and technical teams to verify physical completion before capitalization as per company policy.

3. General Ledger (GL) & Accounts Payable (AP):

  • Periodic review of trial balance, general ledger scrutiny, vendor ledger maintain book hygiene.
  • Month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Ensure accurate posting of vendor invoices, GR/IR clearing etc in co-ordination with SSC/GCC.
  • Control over vendor payments, resolve queries, and ensure adherence to payment cycles.
  • Resolve SAP process issues in coordination with plant teams and SSC.

4. Compliance & Regulatory Knowledge:

  • Apply IND AS standards for capitalization, impairment, depreciation, and asset retirement obligations.
  • Ensure correct accounting treatment of GST credit on goods and services, reverse charge, and blocked credits.
  • Comply with TDS provisions under Income Tax for contractor, professional, and rent payments.
  • Assist in preparing reports and documentation for statutory audit, internal audit, and tax assessments.

5. Collaboration & Process Excellence:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, SSC, and corporate finance.
  • Contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and cost optimization.
  • Demonstrate extreme ownership, learning agility, and ownership in day-to-day operations.
  • Troubleshoot the day-to-day SAP issue related to FICO module with GCC SAP team.

Preferred candidate profile

  • CA, CMA, or equivalent professional qualification with cement industry background.
  • Familiarity with SAP and GCC/SSC Working is must.
  • Proactive learner with strong analytical skills.
  • Team-oriented, flexible, and self-driven professional.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy & Problem-solving approach.
  • Adaptability in dynamic, plant-level environments.
