Role Overview:

The SAP Testing Lead will be responsible for defining, managing, and executing the overall testing strategy across multiple SAP modules within the Oil & Gas domain. The role demands strong experience in SAP functional testing, quality assurance processes, and familiarity with leading QA automation and test management tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end testing activities across SAP implementation and rollout phases (Unit, Integration, UAT, Regression).
  • Develop and manage the overall test strategy, test plan, and execution schedule in alignment with project timelines.
  • Coordinate with functional leads, business users, and technical teams to ensure complete test coverage.
  • Oversee test case design, test data preparation, and defect management using industry-standard QA tools.
  • Manage defect triage meetings and ensure timely closure of open issues.
  • Collaborate closely with SAP functional teams (HVC, FSM, RTR, RPP, etc.) to validate business processes and integrations.
  • Provide testing metrics, dashboards, and progress reports to project management and leadership teams.
  • Mentor and guide offshore/onshore QA teams to ensure testing excellence and compliance with defined standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the testing practice, leveraging automation and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in SAP testing, with at least 5 years in a lead or managerial capacity.
  • Strong domain experience in Oil & Gas downstream / Hydrocarbon Value Chain (HVC, FSM, TSW, etc.)
  • Hands-on expertise with SAP S/4HANA testing across Finance, Supply Chain, and Commercial modules.
  • Proficiency in QA/Test tools such as HP ALM, Jira, Tricentis Tosca, SAP Solution Manager Test Suite, or equivalent.
  • Solid understanding of integration testing across SAP and non-SAP applications.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working with onsite-offshore delivery models.
  • ISTQB or equivalent QA certification preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with automation testing for SAP environments (e.g., Tosca, CBTA, Worksoft Certify).
  • Exposure to cloud-based SAP solutions (SAC, BTP, Datasphere) is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in managing testing cycles for large-scale SAP transformation programs.
