What we need:

Reporting to the Head of Design & Engineering, India, this role will be responsible for leading and coordinating engineering design activities, ensuring project milestones are met, and maintaining quality and compliance standards.This role will be based in Kalwa Dighe, site location.

Key responsibilities:

Engineering Design:

• Detailed design and engineering for Hyper scale/Enterprise data center build includes master layout design, Civil and Interior work, Mechanical HT/LT, HVAC (Precision, Comfort cooling through Chilled water, Air cooled Chilled water and Dx based system) for Density rack cooling system, Integrated Building Management system, Fire and Security system, DCiM, PUE and TCO analysis.

Customer Interactions:

• Interaction with the customer to understand their business requirements and designing the Data center.
• Present our Designs to Customer's SMEs and take their inputs for implementation.
• Detailed Engineering Corresponding to customer requirement, preparation of Solution document along with Layout and drawings for building Data Center.

Quality Assurance:

• Conduct thorough reviews of data center designs to ensure they meet Digital Edge's requirements, safety, and regulatory standards.

Risk Management:

• Identify potential risks particularly associated with data center design elements and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively.

Consultant and Vendor Collaboration:

• Work closely with external parties for successful design delivery, selecting the appropriate components and ensuring compatibility for construction and operations.
• Effectively communicate design concepts, progress, and challenges to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Data Center Infrastructure Design:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and architect data center solutions that align with the organization's requirements, including capacity planning, redundancy, power, cooling, and space utilization.

Stakeholder Management:

• Support DEI procurement team during tender process.

• Support Site Resources for design related RFIs & make them understand Data Center design.

• Actively champion and comply with policies and procedures related to workplace health & safety, information security, environmental, quality, energy management systems, incident management, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate:

• Bachelor's/Diploma degree in field of Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years' relevant professional and Design project delivery experience in design of hyperscale data centers.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Knowledge on Data center Architectural features like FOH/BOH area, Specialized Data Center related requirements etc. EHV systems and its implementation in Data Centers.
• In-depth Knowledge on statutory and regulatory norms for setting up a data center building and data center campus.
• Candidate shall be well skilled in implementation of automated designing software such as BIM360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud.
