Quality Supervisor

To supervise and monitor day-to-day construction activities at the site, ensuring that work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The Quality Site Supervisor assists the Quality Engineer in implementing inspection procedures, maintaining records, and ensuring consistent workmanship at all stages of construction.

Role & responsibilities

1. Site Supervision & Inspection

  • Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and ITPs.
  • Conduct routine inspections for reinforcement, shuttering, concreting, masonry, plastering, flooring, waterproofing, and finishing works.
  • Check workmanship and raise observations or deviations to the Senior Quality Engineer.
  • Coordinate with site engineers and foremen to ensure rectification of quality issues.

2. Material Verification & Handling

  • Inspect and verify materials delivered at the site against approved samples and supplier specifications.
  • Ensure proper storage, stacking, and handling of construction materials.
  • Check that material testing (for concrete, steel, aggregates, etc.) is performed as per project requirements.
  • Assist in collecting material samples and coordinating with external testing laboratories.

3. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain daily inspection reports, checklists, and quality logs for all site activities.
  • Support in preparing and submitting quality documentation to consultants/clients.
  • Record test results, NCRs, and corrective actions as directed by the Quality Engineer.
  • Ensure that QA/QC records are updated and easily accessible for audits.

4. Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with execution, safety, and store teams for smooth implementation of quality measures.
  • Report any non-conformance or deviation immediately to the Senior Quality Engineer.
  • Support in client/consultant inspections and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Attend daily site coordination meetings related to quality activities.

5. Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all work at site complies with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Support QA/QC team in conducting toolbox talks and quality awareness sessions for site workers.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Education: Diploma / ITI in Civil Engineering or Construction.
  • Experience: 48 years of experience in site supervision, preferably in QA/QC within a contracting firm.
  • Industry Exposure: Residential, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure construction projects.
