Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled
Power Electronics Engineer
with hands-on experience in the
design, development, fabrication, testing, and certification
of power electronic converters. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in converter topologies, magnetics, digital control, and thermal/electrical validation.
This role is central to building our next-generation GaN/SiC charger platforms and scaling them to commercial, industrial, and automotive-grade products.
Key Responsibilities
1. Power Electronics Design & Development
- Design of rectifiers, inverters, and isolated/non-isolated DC–DC converters.
- Converter topology evaluation and selection.
- Differential and common-mode EMI filter design.
- Feedback controller design, tuning, and stability verification.
2. Simulation & Semiconductor Analysis
- Perform system and circuit simulations using
MATLAB/Simulink, LTspice, PLECS
, etc. - Power semiconductor selection (MOSFET, IGBT, GaN, SiC) and
loss estimation
using DPT and SPICE models. - Design and validation of gate driver circuits.
3. Magnetics & Thermal Design
- High-frequency inductor and transformer design using ANSYS Maxwell or equivalent.
- Thermal simulation and analysis using
ANSYS Icepak
or similar tools.
4. Hardware Engineering
- Schematic design, component selection, PCB layout review, and BOM creation.
- Placement of sensors, protections, capacitors, and high-voltage components.
- DFM and DFT considerations during design.
5. Embedded Systems & Firmware
- Development of real-time control systems using MCU/DSP/DSC platforms.
- Firmware development in Embedded C for control loops, protection, communication (CAN/UART), and supervisory logic.
- Hardware debugging and real-time validation.
6. Validation, Testing & Quality Assurance
- Prepare and execute detailed test plans (electrical, thermal, functional, EMC).
- Interpret test data, identify issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure system reliability and safety through structured problem-solving methodologies.
7. Certification & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with standards:
BIS, CE, AIS-138
, and automotive safety norms as applicable. - Coordinate with certification labs and regulatory bodies.
- Experience with NPD processes and DFMEA is a plus.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- BE/M.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Embedded Systems, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of converter topologies, semiconductor devices, magnetics, and embedded control.
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, LTspice, PLECS, ANSYS Maxwell, Icepak.
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment and hardware testing.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in EV chargers, SMPS, UPS, inverters, or automotive power systems.
- Exposure to DFMEA, NPD processes, functional safety, and certification cycles.
