We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Technical Operations Manager to lead and scale our cross-functional technical teams. Reporting to the Director of Architecture, Engineering, and Assurance, this role plays a pivotal part in driving delivery standards, enhancing performance, and supporting strategic technical alignment across systems and platforms (COTS, legacy, vendor systems) within the Waystone group.

You will lead a high-performing, blended team, champion best practices, and foster a culture of accountability and innovation. Youll also act as a bridge between our Mumbai-based operations and UK leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage cross-functional technical teams, ensuring high standards of delivery and engagement.
  • Implement a structured recruitment and onboarding process for efficient team scaling.
  • Ensure team members are skilled, supported, and have access to training and tools.
  • Assess internal capabilities before hiring for new technology requirements.
  • Promote cross-training and reduce over-specialisation across teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement in technical delivery and team performance.
  • Collaborate with Development and Test Managers on optimal resource allocation.
  • Implement and enforce development and testing standards, tools, and practices.
  • Track and improve team performance using data and metrics.
  • Maintain alignment with architecture, engineering, assurance, and platform teams.
  • Act as a key liaison between India-based teams and UK leadership.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in technology leadership roles in multi-platform environments.
  • Proven track record in team building, onboarding, mentoring, and scaling operations.
  • Experience with CI/CD, automation, and cloud-native development practices.
  • Familiarity with governance and assurance standards in regulated industries.
  • Strong background in performance tracking, capacity planning, and resource optimization.
  • Ability to work in matrixed environments, supporting various functional leaders.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
