Job Description: Automation Engineer Citrix Administration, Monitoring & Optimization

We are hiring an experienced and proactive Automation Engineer to join our infrastructure monitoring team. This role goes beyond routine task execution we're looking for engineers who act as strategic partners, capable of evaluating, improving, and implementing best practices across Citrix environments and associated monitoring tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate existing monitoring configurations against Citrix best practices and identify gaps.
  • Create Citrix master images using scripts
  • Manage the VDI machines Application, OS and MS updates installation and configurations using Automation tools ( Terraform, Ansible and Azure Devops )
  • Citrix Xendektop and XenApp Implementation and administration.
  • Implement and optimize monitoring solutions using tools such as ControlUp and Login VSI.
  • Research and apply Citrix recommendations for services like StoreFront, VMs, and C-drive utilization.
  • Participate in onboarding and knowledge transfer phases, including tool-specific training (e.g., ControlUp, Login VSI).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive coverage of Citrix environments.
  • Maintain and improve documentation for monitoring tools and processes.
  • Recommend enhancements to monitoring strategies based on performance data and vendor guidance.
  • Actively contribute to the transition and setup of new monitoring frameworks.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in infrastructure monitoring or automation engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with Citrix environments and monitoring tools (ControlUp, Login VSI).
  • Strong understanding of Citrix architecture including StoreFront, Delivery Controllers, and Virtual Apps/Desktops.
  • Exposure to enterprise IT environments and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI).
  • Automate the PVS Images using Automation tools and scripts.
  • Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) for automation.
  • Ability to analyze current state vs. best practices and implement improvements.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Self-starter attitude with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with other monitoring platforms and performance testing tools.
