Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Scheduling:

  • Develop and maintain a realistic and achievable Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on sales forecasts and firm customer orders.
  • Create detailed daily and weekly production schedules for the shop floor, considering capacity constraints, manpower, and material availability.
  • Plan and sequence work orders to maximize efficiency and minimize setup times on cutting, stripping, crimping, and assembly lines.
  • Coordinate with the Engineering department to incorporate New Product Introduction (NPI) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) into the production plan.

2. Material Requirements Planning (MRP Excel):

  • Work closely with the Procurement team to ensure the timely availability of raw materials (wires, connectors, terminals, sleeves, etc.) and components.

  • Identify and address material shortages, bottlenecks, and potential supply chain disruptions proactively.

3. Capacity Planning & Resource Management:

  • Analyze available capacity (machines and labor) against the production plan.
  • Identify capacity constraints and work with Operations Management to develop solutions (e.g., overtime, shift adjustments, temporary labor).
  • Allocate resources effectively across different production lines and projects.

4. Data Management & Reporting:

  • Maintain high data integrity within the ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor) for items, BOMs, routings, and order statuses.
  • Generate and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as:
  • On-Time Delivery (OTD)
  • Schedule Adherence / Attainment
  • Production Efficiency
  • WIP and Inventory Turnover
  • Prepare regular reports on production status, potential delays, and performance metrics for management review.

5. Coordination & Communication:

  • Act as the primary liaison between Sales, Procurement, Production, and Logistics teams.
  • Lead or participate in daily/weekly production meetings to communicate priorities, challenges, and schedule changes.
  • Communicate proactively with customer service and sales regarding order status and any potential delivery delays.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience will be considered.
  • Experience:

  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency with an ERP/MRP system is essential.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, Charts) for data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of MRP logic, capacity planning, and inventory management principles.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
