About the Role

Lingua Arabia is seeking an experienced WordPress Performance Optimization Specialist to significantly improve the Core Web Vitals and Google PageSpeed Insights scores of our website. The site is built with the Astra theme and uses a minimal plugin setup. The focus is on improving mobile performance, with additional layout stability adjustments required for desktop.

This role is open only to independent freelancers. Applications from agencies, recruiters, or intermediaries will not be considered.

Key Project IssuesMobile (Highest Priority)

  • Largest Contentful Paint (LCP)
  • Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS)
  • Slow First Contentful Paint (FCP)
  • Poor Speed Index
  • Need for optimized images, critical CSS, and above-the-fold improvements

Desktop

  • High CLS
  • Other metrics are acceptable, but layout stability must be improved

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and fix LCP and CLS issues on mobile and desktop
  • Optimize images, fonts, above-the-fold content, and render-blocking resources
  • Improve or generate critical CSS
  • Defer, delay, or remove unnecessary scripts and unused CSS
  • Configure and optimize LiteSpeed Cache and CDN
  • Maintain the current visual design and layout exactly as they are
  • Provide detailed before and after PageSpeed Insights reports

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience improving Core Web Vitals for WordPress
  • Strong understanding of LCP, CLS, FCP, and Speed Index
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Astra theme performance tuning
  • Image optimization (WebP, AVIF, responsive images)
  • Critical CSS generation and font loading strategies
  • LiteSpeed Cache and configuration
  • Ability to diagnose issues using Lighthouse, Chrome DevTools, and PageSpeed Insights
  • Ability to work independently and deliver measurable results

Important Requirement

  • The full optimization work must be completed without installing any additional plugins. All fixes must be performed using the existing plugins, theme tools, and server configuration.
