Job Summary
Comcast Technology and Product Experience (TPX) is seeking a Development Engineer 4 to join our Connectivity Customer Experience (CCX) team in the Connected Living Organization. As a Development Engineer 4, you will specialize in building high-performance, reliable back-end systems and server-side APIs, creating the interconnectivity fabric of the platform and enabling the provisioning of a new and revolutionary class of services to millions of Internet users.

Job Description
Responsibilities:

• Lead design and development Rest and messaging based software infrastructure and build back-end cloud-based systems and APIs
• Lead design and development low latency/high throughput server infrastructure components to handle large volume of transactions and ability to scale
• Analyze requirements, design and develop code, unit test code and test tools
• Present and defend architectural, design, and technical choices to internal and external audiences
• Comfortable with collaboration and open communication with partner teams like client engineering, product, and other partner teams
• Develop software infrastructure and build tools useful in development lifecycle (CI/CD Pipeline Automation)
• Maintain and monitor production systems for capacity issues, performance and conduct proactive health-checks
• Incident trouble shooting, with quick remediation for issues
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers
• Identify and pursue opportunities for cloud cost savings where appropriate

Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of work experience or equivalent programming in Java in a mid to large cloud environment
• 5+ years' experience with high-scale, high performance and high availability server development including monitoring of logs and alerts.
• Deep familiarity with REST APIs
• Solid understanding of containers, familiar with AWS ECS or other orchestration system
• Solid understanding of deployment and management systems such as Docker, Terraform, etc.
• Strong grasp and practical experience with automation and virtualization of at least one cloud platform (e.g. AWS, Azure)
• Expertise in building/maintaining/sustaining monitoring systems like: Datadog, Grafana, Elasticsearch (ELK), etc.
• Production experience working with load balancers and web stack-based application environments
• Self-motivated, with excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience in building, maintaining, supporting Cloud based applications with 24x7 availability

Preferred Skills
Experience leading and mentoring a group of engineers with design and feature delivery

Familiarity with serverless functions such as AWS Lambda

Solid grasp of operating and managing NoSQL DB such as DynamoDB, ElastiCache (Redis)

Familiarity with GraphQL

Systems and application monitoring and performance tuning knowledge

Familiarity with messaging systems like AWS SNS/SQS

Experience in AWS VPC, Firewalls, Networking and Security
