Job Description:

As a Mechanical Rigger in the ferro-alloys industry, you'll be responsible for the safe and efficient handling of heavy equipment and materials, including rigging, lifting, and securing loads, while adhering to safety protocols and standards. 

Key Responsibilities of a Mechanical Rigger (Ferro-alloys):

• 
  Rigging and Securing Loads:
  Inspect, prepare, and dismantle rigging equipment (chains, slings, cables, hooks) to ensure safe lifting and handling of materials and equipment. 
  
  
• 
  Equipment Inspection and Maintenance:
  Regularly inspect, maintain, and repair rigging equipment to prevent accidents and ensure proper functionality. 
  
  
• 
  Load Handling and Transportation:
  Safely lift, move, and position heavy equipment, materials, and components within the ferro-alloys facility, utilizing appropriate lifting equipment like cranes and hoists. 
  
  
• 
  Safety Compliance:
  Adhere to all safety regulations, procedures, and protocols, ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and others. 
  
  
• 
  Communication and Coordination:
  Communicate effectively with supervisors and other workers to coordinate lifting and rigging operations and ensure smooth workflow. 
  
  
• 
  Documentation:
  Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and rigging operations. 
  
  
• 
  Problem Solving:
  Identify and address potential problems or hazards related to rigging operations. 
  
  

Specific Skills and Knowledge Needed:

• Knowledge of rigging procedures: Understand different types of rigging, load calculations, and safe lifting techniques. 
   
  
• Mechanical Aptitude: Be able to identify and diagnose issues with mechanical equipment and perform basic repairs. 
   
  
• Physical Strength and Stamina: Be able to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting and moving heavy objects. 
   
  
• Proficiency in the use of lifting equipment: Be comfortable operating cranes, hoists, and other lifting equipment. 
   
  
• Attention to Detail: Ensure that all rigging operations are carried out accurately and safely.
