Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare cost estimates and project budgets during the planning and design stages.
  • Evaluate tender documents, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), and pricing for construction projects.
  • Assist in contract administration, including reviewing terms, preparing documentation, and managing variations.
  • Track project costs, monitor budgets, and generate cost control reports.
  • Conduct site measurements and valuations to ensure accurate billing and payments.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to maintain financial control.
  • Analyze and negotiate subcontractor quotations and manage subcontractor payments.
  • Identify and assess risks related to cost overruns and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Support claims preparation and resolution, including EOT (Extension of Time) and VO (Variation Orders).
  • Ensure compliance with financial, legal, and regulatory requirements related to contracts and construction finances.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and QS software such as CostX, Candy, or Primavera.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Good understanding of construction drawings, methods, and materials.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge of local construction laws, codes, and procurement procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in both pre- and post-contract quantity surveying.
