Position: Staff Nurse (OT)

Position Summary

Nurses care for people who are sick, injured, convalescent or disabled. Under general supervision, they deliver care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation, in accordance with established philosophy. Nurses collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. Nurses effectively interact with patient and significant others, while maintaining the standard of professional nursing. The nature of the direction and supervision required for this position varies by State and job setting. Staff Nurses provide care for patients from various types of illness or trauma requiring emergency attention and must be able to recognize and effectively treat life-threatening conditions.

Position Responsibilities

1) The Staff Nurse reports to the Incharge.

2) She/he is responsible for entire checking and maintaining the OT inventory of consumable and non-consumable.

3) Preparation of surgical instruments, linen, anesthetic articles, drugs and necessary sutures.

4) Check all gases, suction, and all other supportive equipment to be ready.

5) Check and receive with all reports, records and all other pre- operative check list.

6) Necessary arrangements to be done to send the patients to the respective wards with all post-operative instruction and records.

7) Necessary cleaning to be done for to get ready for next case using disinfectant.
